Introduction
Mountain Buggy Swift: designed light, built compact, it's a sexy wee beast, smaller than the rest of Mountain Buggy's strollers, but don’t let the pint size of the Swift fool you! Beneath the Swift's compact, light and narrower exterior is the tough engineering and functional style of the Urban Jungle.
Seat design and function
Seat fully upright
Seat fully reclined
Seat recline levers, there is one on each side.
Harness, bumper bar and footrest
Footrest
The Swift looks little but it does have a roomy comfortable seat, with non-adjustable footrest. The seat offers a multi-position strap recline. The seat style does mean you have to stuff the excess fabric behind the seat to keep it out of the way of older children.
The Swift comes standard with a padded front bumper bar. The bar can swing away on either side by lifting the bumper release lever on one side or can be removed completely by lifting both levers.
Seat dimensions are:
Seat Back: 51cm/20”
Clearance to hood: 58cm/23”
Width: 27cm/10.5”
Seat depth: 19cm/7.5”
Foot well: 19cm/7.5”
Weight limit: 35kg/77lbs

Child safety harness
Harness buckle
The safety harness on the Swift is very secure; it features a safety lock consisting of two smaller red buttons that have to be pressed in simultaneously, while unbuckling the harness. This means it really is escape proof for even the trickiest toddler.
The shoulder harness straps have cushioned harness pads. To adjust the harness height is a little tricky. You have to access the harness from inside the seat back and pop out the harness locks, thread the harness up into the desired spot and pop the harness locks back through.

Hood or Canopy
Hood extended
Sun visor extended
Hood back
The sun coverage on the Swift is fantastic. The hood in standard mode offers reasonable coverage, but when you flick out the sun visor the sun coverage range is very good. I would still recommend a sun cover on smaller bubs who are using the seat reclined. Mountain Buggy do a Swift specific sun cover.

Handle design and function
Handle highest setting
Handle lowest setting
Handle adjust button (one each side of handle)
The handle height on the Swift will have something to suit all parents. At the lowest setting it is 78cm/30.5”and by extending the handle to the highest position it reaches 106cm/41.75”.

Storage
Underseat basket
Underseat basket side pockets
Bottle Holder
The under seat basket on the Swift is a medium/large basket. The clearance between seat and basket makes access easy from the back and sides.
A water bottle holder is also included as standard on the Swift.

Wheels and Brakes
Front wheel lock
Rear wheel release button
The Swift has 3 x 15.5cm/10” air filled wheels; the front wheel can be locked for better manoeuvrability on tougher terrain. It can also swivel 360 degrees for the ultimate in manoeuvrability.
Brake disengaged (Free Rider attachment bracket attached)
Brakes engaged (Free Rider attachment bracket attached)
The Swift has a locking brake, which is a lever system over the rear wheels. It is easy to use, with a simple up to lock, down to unlock movement. If you find your brake bar is hard to engage, Mountain Buggy recommends a little silicone spray on the bar to ease movement.

Fold mechanism
Fold release lever
Standing fold
Fold lock clip and tether strap
The fold mechanism is a two-lever system at the footplate. To fold ensure the front wheel is unlocked and at the most forward position, then simply move the lock safety guard out of the way and slide the two fold levers either side of the footplate up. The buggy will collapse down and can be secured using the manual lock strap. The Swift has a standing fold when you position the handle bar at its highest setting.
For a more compact fold the rear wheels can be removed using the quick release button and the rear width can be reduced to 46cm/18” by retracting the rear axels. To retract the rear axle twist the grey lever buttons on the rear cross bar upwards and push the axle in.

Manoeuvrability
Don’t let the size fool you, the Swift might be the smallest of the Mountain Buggy range but the Swift is amazingly agile on all terrain surfaces; it handles even the toughest terrain without missing a beat.In the shops the stroller glides and turns on the dime

Summary and Rating
Pros
- Small and agile
- Multi position recline including flat position
- Extra safety feature on harness
Cons
- Fold is on the large size
- Harness is difficult to adjust
Conclusion
The Swift is small enough to be used as an everyday stroller, it would fit comfortably on public transport and moves effortlessly about the shops. Its small size however does not mean it does not hold its own outdoors and active parents can rest assured the Swift will keep up with your family adventures.Rating
