Handle snapped off for me too
Reviewed by: Ms Swales from England, Dec 10, 2010General Review
Interested to read the above review as mine has just done the same thing.Very dangerous, and i am not getting a replacement or full refund as the store say it was a refurbished item. It shouldn't matter if it's 5th-hand, the handle should not snap off!
In my case i wasn't trying to use stairs (!) i was simply gently tipping to pushchair to get up a kerb, this happened while crossing the road. Very dangerous and yes it should have been metal.
Major design fault there.
Mamas and Papas have now stopped selling this - maybe this problem is more common than we think.
Pros
Up until this happened and i realise how unsafe it is, i loved everything about it.Cons
I would try another one if i could get a replacement but is it worth the risk?Reaction from customer service Joolz

Joolz is concerned by the experience described by one of our Joolz owners here and would like to prevent similar incidences of from happening to other Joolz Day owners and their children. The incident is a due to misuse of the Joolz Day.In the first place Joolz would like to stipulate that the safety and wellbeing of our customers and their children are paramount to us. The Joolz complies with all relevant safety standards in the countries where it is sold. In order to comply with these standards exhaustive tests have been done by official test houses. Also regarding (the pushbar of) the Joolz.
The pushbar of the Joolz is meant to do exactly what the name says, pushing the stroller. It is not meant to pull or carry the stroller up or down staircases. In our user manual we warn parents never to do this. We realize that the Joolz feels sturdy which it is of course. But the force that is placed on a pushbar while dragging it up a staircase with a child in the seat or cot or carrying it up a staircase creates a potentially unsafe situation. We therefore advise you to take your child out of the stroller and to carry the Joolz by the carry handle that you can find under the seat when you go up and down the stairs.
Pros
1. High seating position of the seat: ready to push straight up to the table. High seat and cot position relieves the back when lifting your child in or out. Very Dutch Ergonomicz.2. Footrest adjustable in length: consistent proper support as your child grows- and no more dangling legs.
3. Handlebar adjustable in height: to give both long and short legs the right amount of space when walking behind the pushchair. Especially good news for tall dads.
4. Comfortable and practical cot: also suitable for sleeping in at night, comes complete with a hypoallergenic breathing mattress.
5. Ergonomic seat is reversible and adjustable in three positions. Your child can face you, or the big wide world.
6. Four-wheel suspension: great comfort and drivability, both in and out of town. A smooth ride every time.
7. Bumper bar is easy to open with one hand from either side, making it simple to lift your child in and out of the pushchair.
8. Compact: when folded (including the seat) it will fit in almost any car, corner, cupboard or stairway.
Cons
We think the Joolz only has positive qualities.DANGEROUS UNRELIABLE!!! STAY AWAY

When i first saw the Joolz i knew it was the perfect stroller for us. With it's excellent design it was a sight to see! Big wheels filled with air promised good suspension and I would be the star in the neighborhood whith such a cool stroller for my son! Affordable yet so advanced. That's what I thought.Little did I know what DESIGN means when we're talking about baby products! Or rather what it should mean: Safety, safety AND SAFETY!
But I was in love with it at the time so...
Enter Joolz!
We bought the Joolz from babycare.nl, they were fast and efficient, delivered on time via UPS, great people to do business with!
The Joolz came, its wheel flat, we fixed that, minor detail we said, we went on holiday.
The Joolz was almost perfect. IF THE WORLD WAS FLAT! And I mean FLAT! Cause if you live in LA,
forget about it! You need a hand break, it does not exist! The weight of both cart and baby is too much for you to hold while going down slopes. YOU NEED A HAND BREAK YOU HAVE NONE.
And you need bigger front wheels cause you have a back wheel freedom that only gets you stuck in pavement cracks where the small front wheels get stuck. Hey MILK DESIGN (the name of the company) THE WORLD IS ROUGH TERRAIN.
In time you find out they should have used better fabrics and of course better stiching, cause the seat just falls apart, your baby being the monkey mine is!
And then came the Stairs!
It was just a few days ago that on our way out of a bookstore, the handle broke off and to any owner of a Joolz that is BAD NEWS. Which means the JOOLZ IS BAD NEWS.
The Joolz Stroller is actually as good as its handle which is attached to the rest of the chassis by the PLASTIC crucial joint (SHOULD BE METAL) by which all the weight of the stroller and your baby is being lifted. The handle, actually lifts all the weight as you go down stairs. If you are planning on having an accident, you'll get your wish!
Imagine your stroller falling apart as you are going down stairs. Imagine the stroller breaking in half separating you from your baby. You are left with the handle in your hands while your baby falls down the stairs.
Our Joolz snaped on the left side handle joint while its wheels were halfway down the step while we were going down the stairs on our way out of the bookstore where we usually hang out.
The stroller lost all balance pulling us both down the stairs.Luckily I was quick enough to save my son and I just sprained
my wrist in my effort to hold the weight of the stroller pulling on the side of the handle that was still attached to the chassis.
At first we were shocked. Then we became very upset. And now we are plain ANGRY.
Partly because, we contacted the company only to find out thay are very unprofessional and rude.
But mainly because a stroller SHOULD NEVER EVER BREAK IN HALF LIKE THAT !
We will have our lawyer take it from here.
SO, STAY AWAY FROM THE JOOLZ CAUSE IT MIGHT BE GOOD TO LOOK AT, BUT
IT WILL PUT YOU AND YOUR CHILD IN GRAVE DANGER!
