General Review

I have loved my phil and teds sports model. I bought it when my youngest son was about 3 months old after trialling a tandem pram and a side by side stroller. My eldest child has an iron deficiency and got tired easily so it was essential to have a pram i could fit both children in. It also had to fit in the boot of my festiva 93 model (basically no boot) or at their feet! I am expecting my third baby and am excited to use it in the newborn mode again!!!

Pros

You can fit two children in it
it's a light three wheeler
All three wheels come off
it folds up quite small for a three wheeler
It can fit at the kids feet in the car
I can put my capsule in it
It is quite stylish and can be adapted to look different and individual - I have the blue vibe liners in mine!!!

Cons

When in toddler mode - kids can't see out very far - my son always wants to sit in the front.
If the wheels arent pumped correctly it can be hard to push
Fabric foot well tears easily
Foam handle tears easily and is expensive and tricky to replace. when folding the pram, the handle hits the ground which would cause wear and tear and tearing to occur easier
Hard to change seating position from laying down to sitting up with the clips when there is a child in the pram!!

dissapointed

General Review

I bought this pram because I'd had such good feedback about previous models from several freinds who own older P&T sports. I don't know if the 2009 version is different to theirs but I have been very dissapointed with ours. It was useless for our bub for the first 2 months. He was born late in Spring, as the days were really getting warm. The cocoon and black sun cover were useless as they roasted him alive. We couldn't have him in the pram without the cocoon as he was too tiny for all the straps. The pram did become very useful when he was around 3-6 months old as it was perfect for afternoon naps while I walked. However now that he is old enough to sit up properly, the pram has again become a pain in the bum as it is impossible to move from lying to sitting whilst he is in the pram. In addition the brake is very stiff and if he's asleep it generally wakes him up if i put the brake on. I have to kick it really hard to get it to engage and disengage, which when wearing summer sandals is not easy without stubbing a toe.

Pros

Great for walking over bumpy ground
easy to manouver
great to use with cocoon if you have a winter newborn

Cons

brake is very stiff
sun covers useless
tab to release it from fold up position often gets stuck
uselss for a newborn who is born in spring/summer.
tyres seem to get flat easily
cannot fold with anything still in basket

Buy the Dash!

General Review

I loved using my P&T Sport for the first 3 months. It worked beautifully with the car capsule and peanut bassinet. The pram is very narrow, and easy to manoeuvre around shops and cafes. Since my son has outgrown the bassinet, all has changed and this pram has had me in tears twice now!
The main issue is that is very difficult to adjust the seat from recline to upright. The buckles are extremely stiff and difficult to do up. I have to basically be sitting with the pram on its side to do up the bottom buckle!! The buckles have become a little easier with time, but it is still impossible to change position in the pram with my baby inside it.

The sun hood is also very poor and have to always put sun cover on when its sunny. The problem with both the sun and rain covers are that there is no access to my baby once they are in place. Have to undo it all just to put a dummy in his mouth when upset!

HAve not used the brake much at all - have to still use two hands to undo the foot brake...

I am getting a new pram. Very disappointed but hoping I will appreciate the P&T again when next bub arrives.

Pros

Peanut bassinet and travel system works very well
Narrow and good in small spaces
Very manoeuvrable

Cons

Impossible to adjust seating position when baby in pram
Adjustment buckles extremely stiff and hard to do up.
Sun and Rain hood give no access to baby once they are on.
Brake impossible to use.

Great double stroller...but pricey!!

Reviewed by: Nicole Merrick from Canada, May 03, 2010

General Review

I bought this stroller for daughter #2 and wish I had bought it with my first child.
Buying a good car seat and a good stroller is such a better idea than the system we bought with our first.
This stroller does take some getting used to (folding and unfolding) but it is a wonderful stroller.
The seats are comfy and my evenflo infant seat was able to lock onto the bar and work for the first few months when #2 was small.
The doubles seat is great! #1 loved sitting in the bottom when I had the infant seat on top. Toddler could get in and out whenever she wanted (unless I strapped her in) #2 enjoys it now as well, with less stimulation and cover, she has slept in both top and bottom seats.
Although the price can be off-putting, if it was my first I would have actually spend a lot less. The cost of the travel system that I bought with #1 was $200+ and that stroller now sits in the garage.

Pros

sleek
compact folding(for a double),
kids love it!
accessories from Kidapottamus & Jolly Jumper work fine (and are much cheaper and easier to find!)
smooth ride
adjustable handle
good spacing for parent walking behind(you won't kick the kids in bottom seat)
looks great
VERY easy to maneuver (including shopping & off road)
easy in & out of kids in both seats

Cons

pricey (average about $500 CAN with doubles kit)
break is hard to put on & off, with double kit little storage space
have to add accessories for cup holders/sun shade/pannier bags/double kit

Not everything you think.

General Review

I got the Sport after a bit of consideration but also form seeing so many around that it seemed it must be doing a good job. Plus the fact that we are going for two in quick succession meant the doubles kit should be perfect.
So far the pram has gone from Aus to Europe in luggage storage - inside the storage bag. and was fine, but weighed a LOT (almost 15kg with the cocoon and accessories) at check in.
From France to the UK, we took the stroller right up to the plane which was great, but it really got thrown around after that and I wouldn't have been able to put it up and down on my own. The shopping bag part is now torn away so not much use with heavy things.
My little one falls asleep in it all the time but hates it going back to recline because there is quite a big jump and the lie flat is almost beyond flat.
The cocoon was only good for the first 8 weeks before she grew out of it but great when she did fit. We used it as a bassinet next to the bed for the first 2 months.
In all, I think the fact that I am considering another stroller that is compact and lightweight just shows it is not really up to scratch. I'll still use it for big trips and when there are two, but for quick runs its no good.

Pros

Easy to move around and push.
Big strong wheels.
Doubles kit will be good I hope

Cons

No handles for bags.
Too big and bulky.
Gets stuck everywhere.
Hard to figure out in the beginning.

big mistake

Reviewed by: mum from australia, Jul 29, 2009

General Review

worst mistake i ever made. stupid instructions manual its like the makers r making fun of u! and then its all downhill after that. the adjusting is stupid! its a pram u really have to give and take with. i returned it after two weeks after zipper dag broke and wheels started making a stratching noise i think the ball bearings got wrecked.

Pros

light weight
compact
i liked the fact that i could use it as a double and single

Cons

cant use hood when doubles kit in front
no hood for bub when double kit at back
no where to hang ur bloody bag!
double kit apparantly not suitable till six months which means baby is expected to lie flat till 6 months.
cant recline main seat except to second position when double on back
double hardly reclines and when baby gets a bit tall theres a metal bar in the way
tips if u take front child out
my daughter was really uncomfortable in the doubles seat
