Snazzy and Functional

Reviewed by: Kat from Canada, Sep 23, 2009

General Review

As a mum of an almost 3 year old and a newborn, I was looking for a stroller that would be able to accommodate both kids' needs and sizes. I already have a double stroller and didn't want another HUGE system to lug in and out of my trunk all day.

The Maclaren Spitfire addressed all of my wants and needs and even my cranky husband praised it at first sight! I'm a first time Maclaren owner and I love how light this stroller is! The breaking system is another rave. I can easily lock and unlock the break in bare feet, yet it is secure when locked. No more battling with the breaking system! I would heartily recommend this stroller to those of us not looking for another heavy travel system but want that kind of versatility in a stroller model. The Spitfire's unique design and high quality make it stand out from the crowd.

Pros

It's got all of the great standard features of a top-of-the-line Maclaren: i.e. full recline, high quality fabric and materials, easy fold, carry handle, basket and back pocket for storage, decent tires and suspension, lightweight, easy breaking system, and fast folding/unfolding of stroller.

Plus it's snazzy! The Spitfire includes infant head hugger and a reversible, waterproof liner in cute green and pink plaid or camo so no matter what the mood or gender, your baby will be riding in style!

Cons

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Techno. I wish it had the adjustable handles and extra sunshade features. Basket is hard to access when stroller is reclined, recline mechanism a little awkward to reach but works well.
