Manufacturers description

It's our third generation and most popular buggy designed. The Everest is made of tubular steel for strength and durability. Unlike most buggies of aluminium construction, the Everest can safely carry your child up to 45kg and can also fit a toddler seat for a second child. The Everest features a unique single-handed folding mechanism that makes it easy for adults to collapse the buggy in one simple fluid motion.

  • Designed for maximum suitability and comfort for newborn babies and toddlers
  • Firm baby mattress: - foam padded for comfort. Provides excellent posture support for newborns and toddlers.
  • Window in rear of sling so that you can view your baby constantly.
  • The sling is adjustable to any incremental incline you choose, and that suits baby's growth.
  • The adjustment of the slings incline does not interfere with the infant, and permits a fluid, easy motion. Great for reclining when your baby drops off to sleep.
  • 5-point safety harness, that is easy to adjust and fasten.
  • Quality chromed handle that can extend to whatever position you require for comfort. Simply secure the preferred position by fastening.
  • The handle can be easily removed in seconds and reversed to provide extra height.
  • Simple removal of the handle permits quick and simple replacement of a worn grip.

The front safety bar is detachable, yet firmly secure when in place. Padded for safety, the "front safety bar" provides extra security and safety for your child. As your infant grows the front bar helps promote the strengthening of their back muscles, providing something to hold onto so that they can sit upright.

  • Large sized parcel tray which features a zipped lid for security, privacy and keeps contents waterproof.

The top fitting toddler seat fits any ABC buggy with a flat sun canopy. The advantages of the top fitting toddler seat are:

  • It is simple and easy to install and remove;

The weight displacement makes the buggy very light to push and manouevre, as the toddlers weight isn't over the front wheels as front-mounted toddler seats are;

  • You are able to use you stormcover or sunmesh to protect your newborn, which isn't possible with the front-mounted toddler seat.

The buggy can be simply converted to a 4-wheeler by simply inserting a spreader bar into the chamber for the front wheel and adding an extra wheel. The spreader bar is easily removed by the pressing of a spring button release.

I absolutely love this pram

General Review

after buying several ( well more like half a dozen prams ) i finally found this one with the top mounted toddler seat and finaly some peace while trying to shop with 2 under 4 my 3.5 would ride in the pram and my 1 year old would ride in the toddler seat close to me without having to be carried, combined with the stabliser bar on the front to convert from 3 wheeler to 4 wheeler i have found no problems what so ever even when only using the toddler seat and not having my older child in the main seat.
folds compact enough to fit in the rear space of my van (behind the 3rd row of seats) without having to remove the toddler seat. and very easy to open which makes this a great pram when trying to juggle 5 children under 10. I also found the after sale help from Phil Green wonderful.

Pros

great pram to use with 2 littlies both able to see without having to look out from behind their sibling.

Cons

I cant really think of anything that i dont like about this pram at all it would have to be the best pram i have ever owned and i have owned quite a few over the past 11 years.

Overall Disappointed

Reviewed by: Simone from Melbourne, Jun 18, 2007

General Review

Loved it at first. Good pretection of bub with footmuff on. As bub grew found that when the seat is in upright position the material folds get in the way. Supplier in Melbourne although knowledgable have too long a lag time in delivery of stock and only one supplier in Melbourne. Found manoeverability extremely variable. Becomes difficult when tyre pressure down or increased load on board.
Have just bought the toddler seat with bub no.2 due. Purchased pram in Oct 2005 and ordered toddler seat in Mid April 2007. Took over 2 months for toddler seat to be available and at $249 for the toddler seat alone was very disappointed on pickup that Toddler seat metal frame has been changed from silver/chrome to black. At >$1000 for the combination we now have a mismatched pram. Considering price very disappointed. Website photos still show original colored frames on both and Melbourne contacts have not been updated on website. Yet to use toddler seat.
Disappointed in length of pram when folded. As well as inability to lock in the closed position. Makes it difficult to get in and out of the car. Width is great.

Pros

Width.
Foot muff

Cons

Price
length
Poorly matched toddler seat ( Looks)
Only one stockist in Melbourne
Lag in availability
Lack of head room when seat in upright position. Material too bulky.

General Review

The Everest has got to be one of the best prams on the market. I have previously owned a mountain buggy urban, and in many ways this is quite a similar pram - but I think it is better made, stronger, and has better accessories (especially the toddler seat) which is why I got the Everest. Simple design, really solid build quality (yet still light for a stroller of this size), great rugged looks, and great accessories. Aside from this, ABC's customer service is the best I have ever encountered. My 20 month old loves riding in her pram, it's really comfortable, with a roomy, supportive seat, and well designed leg and foot rest. Unlike my last buggy (a Steelcraft swivelrite deluxe - total dud)she will happily sit in her pram for long walks. The best part is, I hardly need my little umbrella stroller now, because the narrow wheel base of the Everest allows me to fit just about anywhere (in fact its probably not much wider than my umbrella stroller). This pram is amazingly easy to push and steer, and rugged enough for even my husband to be seen pushing (he's not a pram guy!). It is long when folded down, but incredibly flat, and I have no problem fitting it in my boot with the wheels on - and because it's so flat I can fit loads of other stuff in too, unlike previous buggys I've owned. I am in love with this pram, and live to take it out for walks!

Pros

Simple, practical design
extremely strong
stylish rugged looks
lightweight
roomy seat
comfortable ride for baby
folds totally flat
great accessories
GENIUS toddler seat option
narrow enough to fit everywhere
THE BEST customer service

Reveiw of circa 2002 Adventure buggy

Reviewed by: Cat from Regional WA, Australia., Jan 23, 2006

General Review

From the use it's received so far, this pram has been great. I love it. Even my DH likes it the most of all the prams I've had.

The toddler seat on top is fantastic. My 3.5 year old sits in it, and the only hard bit is trying to get him out as his feet catch, but we've worked out a good system now.

The main seat doesn't have a lot of height in it. The 3.5yr old fits, but his head holds the roof up. Seeing as that bit is actually for the impending baby and the 1.5yr old will go up top and the 3.5 yr old will walk, I'm not too worried about it.

The steering is brilliant. So lightweight and easy even with 28kg of kids in it.

The biggest downsides...

1. It is RIDICULOUSLY large when folded. When I bought it, we compared it side by side with my sisters P & T's and the Mtn Buggy. They were all similar in size when erect, but the AB was so much longer when collapsed. You don't need to take the toddler seat off, but I have a commodore wagon, so about the biggest boot you can get and to fit it in the boot lengthways I have to take the front wheel off I thought this would really annoy me, but it's worth it for such a good pram.

2. The only other fault of note is the stability, but I believe this is common to 3 wheelers. I've taught my self not to walk away and leave it with the kids in (I always do this normally) and to use the 5 pt harnesses (another fault of mine is not using them in previous prams). I was putting it away one day and had taken the toddler out of the top seat and was putting him in the car. The 3.5 yr old was unstrapped and tried to climb out of the main seat and tipped it over in the process. So no letting them climb in and out themselves unless you're holding on.

Anyway, that was a very long winded way of saying I really love this pram for 2 children. I hate traditional toddler seats and limo style prams. So heavy to steer and the kids can't see.

However if I didn't want it for the toddler seat function (ie only had one child that need a pram) I would buy something with a roomier main seat. (Like and emmaljunga or a peg!)

Please note that later models of the Adventure buggy have a domed hood so the roominess for older children is increased.

Pros

Excellent to steer- especially as a single width pram that accomodates 2 children.
*Top mounted toddler seat is fabulous.

Cons

*Large folded side.
*Being a 3-wheeler is more unstable that a 4 wheeler.
*Short seat height (improved in later models).

Warning do not use toddler seat

Reviewed by: Jennifer from Melbourne, Dec 12, 2005

General Review

We purchased this and have been very disappointed with the toddler seat option. We have seen returned the pram and purchased a double MB. But here is what happened - DS1 22 months and a 5kg baby DS! chucks a tantrum, I needed to go and give baby a dummy and the pram tipped back as soon as I let go of the handle.... My DS1 is oly just 14kg.... I think its very irresponsible for them to say that its safe for toddlers use. It probably would be safe for a plastic dummy that doesn't move but not an active toddler at 22 months.

Pros

Single use - appears to be ok. Accerssoreis great.

Cons

TODDLER SEAT
Tipping

Excellent after sale help

Reviewed by: Gail from Australia, Nov 16, 2005

General Review

I was probably a bit harsh in my previous review, I have since pumped tyres and lubricated wheels and pram does perform better. It will still tip under certain conditions but I think this is common to all three wheelers as I saw a Valco do the same thing this morning. The service and help I have received from Phil, the owner of the ABC company, has been excellent and restored my faith in manufacturers.

Pros

Excellent service

Cons

as described

Unsteady

Reviewed by: Gail from Australia, Nov 11, 2005

General Review

I have found my buggy to be a strong well made pram with one glaring problem, the pram often tips when cornering, I have to keep a tight hold of pram at all times as the balance is off, while parked recently a slightly built 22 month old toppled the pram by steadying herself with one hand on the pram's bumper while saying hello to my baby, the pram landed on toddler and my baby was thrown from the pram.
Be warned.

Pros

Good looking strong pram

Cons

Reliably unsteady

A Great stroller for 1 or 2 children flexibility

Reviewed by: Tam from Canada, Oct 25, 2005

General Review

These strollers are built to take life in stride and come out looking great. The quality and materials are superb and the stroller offers a great solution to have a convertible stroller for 1 or 2 children. Even when you are too lazy to remove the toddler seat it does not get in the way of everyday use. Both children get a great view and position without the complaint of one child being behind the other as most other toddler seats position the children. It's well balanced and the weight is well distributed to make pushing quiet a breeze with the footprint still only taking up the space of a regular single all terrrain stroller. Cheers to a great product

Pros

the additional backback style storage is a great idea for this stroller, Quality and delivery of preformance are this strollers strength. higher wight limits make it particularly useful as a double

Cons

price is a definate con. but as a sinlge or double option it could easily last you a long time through various stages of your childrens lives
