This is best stroller I bought it 2009 for my first son and using it again for my 2nd son. The problem is I went to doctors.I had the cars clipped in to the skate frame. I took out the cars seat to take the baby in to the doctor room. I came out and it was gone. I am looking for peg perego skate frame. If anyone having problems with their bassinet and it's not workable. I would like to buy the frame. I called the customer service and to replace the frame it will cost me the same as buying new stroller. Please contact me at sabahaq23@gmail.com
Thanks
Pros
I loved everything about this stroller. It is worth every penny!Cons
How it's fold and it's hard to put it in the small car trunk space. The fold clip at the bottom is not great at all it unscrewed itself and had hard time to screit back on but I did it and glued it
Love it and using it for baby #2

We thought long and hard before deciding to outlay AUD$1300 for this product but it's been wonderful. We had an issue with the seat-tilt function not working and had to send it away to get fixed- Sunshine Coast to Melbourne- but it's been perfect ever since. We had a wonky wheel which my sales man told me was due to me leaving it in the boot of the car and it heating up and the plastic of the wheel melting and disforming. Have been careful ever since.
Oh, and the 5-point harness is supposed to come free from the back of the seat. It's a 'freedom-of-movement' harness, so baby is strapped in but not constricted to being stuck back in the seat, baby can sit up or sit back as it pleases.
Great coverage from the sunshade in any position.
Pros
One piece converts from bassinet to stroller seat.Easy to fold down, I can take it out of the boot and put it together while holding my baby in the other arm.
Very smooth to drive
Very easy to steer
Cons
There's no ventilation in the sunshade and it gets mighty hot in the summer.PEG PEREGO SERVICE

We had many problems with our skate and last week I had finally had it when the clip holding the bumper bar snapped.I contacted Peg Perego right away,
but unfortunately it was the Thurseday afternoon before easter weekend.
Still, I spoke with Tammy
and she assured me she would have some answers for me on Tuesday morning.
With all that I had read regarding Pegs poor customer service I was not holding my breath.
I have to report how surprised I was when Tuesday Tammy called me and told me to bring my skate in.
I explained to her that I could not be without me skate for any extended period of time and she said just bring it in and we'll assess the situation.
I arrived a Peg perego head office at 1:15 pm and was on the way with my new generation frame and my Skate in perfect working condition by 2:00pm.
Tammy was wonderful and the technician was fast and very efficient.
I must say that although I am not very impressed with having the issues I had with my skate, my decision to purchase a Peg Perego was warrented by the service I recieved!

We bought the Skate because we loved the functionality and design behind the Skate. We were told how great Peg was and that this company was top of the line for quality! HA! What a piece of overpriced junk! My stroller has a warped tire that makes pushing the stroller on a smooth service (mall) feel like a busted shopping cart. My baby was born in June 09 and she is too “heavy” and slides to the bottom of the boot when in the basinet position. Complained to Peg and they sent us replacement pins for the seat, they are the exact same pins and made no difference. I cannot even put the stroller into the seat position because there is about 3 inches of play in the frame. The latest! Last week my frame snapped at a plastic elbow joint. We too have had to purchase another stroller. Kicking ourselves for buying this stroller!!!!Pros

Stuck with a $650 broken stroller...
I HATE this stroller!

I have had to return this stroller twice for repairs and am going to return it a third time now...First Return: before my baby was even born I noticed the bassinet was tilted towards where baby's feet would go. There was a defect in the frame.
Second Return: brakes broke and kept getting stuck. I got stuck somewhere because brakes would not come off and ended up asking someone to hold my baby while i disassembled it, turned it upside down and kicked the brake with extreme force to get it off.
Third Return: My baby is not even a year old and his head touches the top of the stroller, even though I have flattened the top cushion meant for newborns in the bassinet. Also, the snap on the shade has been broken since I got it, I just kept forgetting to mention it since there were so many other things to remember. Oh, and the "5 point" safety harness does not stay in place. You have to manually put it together and the clip that holds the shoulder straps in place does not stay AT ALL. My baby can sit up from a lying down position and easily pull the clip out in doing so.
If you are going to invest this kind of money in a stroller, get the Bugaboo. It's the most popular luxury stroller for a reason.
Also, I had to invest in another stroller while all of these repairs were being done and will never see reimbursement for my money or inconvenience. This stroller has been nothing but a hassle for me. I am going to ask them to take it back... Peg Perego won't be seeing another penny from me.
Pros
strong frame, easy to maneuver with one hand.Cons
EVERYTHING ELSE!LOVE LOVE LOVE SKATE

I've had my Skate for over 14 mths now ... and have loved it since I first put the baby in it! I didn't find any of the problems alluded to in other reviews. My skate was sturdy and stable from the moment we assembled it. Since baby was very tiny for a long time, we used the carseat and base for almost 7mths - and was always impressed at the reactions from passersby and how much room we had underneath.I've used this stroller consistently every single day since baby's birth and since I'm an urban mom who walks and takes mass transit - this skate has seen many many miles. Only in the past two weeks have things started to need fixing. One of my front wheels bent - guess should've been doing regular maintenance!
Overall, would recommend it to those not sure whether to choose the Bugaboo or another. Don't be sheep and buy what everyone else has ... instead SKATE!!!
Pros
Travel with this stroller a breeze through airports - they do allow you to bring it to the door. Whether using the carseat/base or the stroller - it counts as a stroller since it collapses flat and the tires easily pop off.I love that the skate combines the best of other high end strollers into one - the height sdjustment, forward or reverse facing seat, basinet/seat or vice versa at will. The wheels - have worked very well during harsh Canadian winter - we skated through!!!
Peg Perego in Canada was super helpful and still covered the replacement wheels under warranty - even after the year deadline!
Cons
Once baby was fitting into the bassinet/seat - the roomy basket is not as roomy any longer. But the comfort and ease of the stroller - both for baby and myself still win me over. The seat/bassinet has started to stick (after 14 mths)when trying to push it down to recline or up to seating, but again, think that's a question of proper maintenance.
Would really like to be able to get accessories mentioned in the catalogue - but not always available in Canada - especially the tray.
Not worth the investment

When shopping for a stroller, I had my eye on the Bugaboo, but the sales lady convinced me that the Skate was a better stroller. I do like the design behind it - and that it has 3 height levels as baby grows. The maneuverability of the Skate is amazing, it works really nicely in the mall for moving around. However, I really feel like when we're spending almost $900 CDN for a stroller, it should be perfect and this stroller is most certainly not. I found that the bassinet feels super wobbly when attached and after about 5 months started to lean towards baby's toes and she would slip towards the end of the bassinet.
After about 7 months one of the tires died on us. And this was not due to a piece of glass, etc in the tire. It was the inner tube that popped.
The folding function is very simple and quick, but didn't last too long. The foot pedal was no longer required after about 5 months, which means the stroller was less stable because it could fold down so easily you wonder if it would just collapse when baby is sitting in it.
I also feel like the cup holder could have been designed better. It too didn't really feel stable and I ended up buying a separate cup holder that attaches between the handles. Plus it sticks out so much that when you're trying to squeeze through mall aisles, it always gets in the way.
There is really no storage in this stroller. I think a deeper basket at the bottom would have been more practical, although it is nice to have the elastics at the bottom to keep a few items from falling off the net.
Pros
- easy maneuverability- folds easily
- good design (bassinet to toddler)
- easy to remove bassinet and add car seat
- handle bar adjusts easily
Cons
- poorly designed cup holder- not put together well
- poor value for the dollar
- doesn't feel stable
- heavy
Don't waste your money!!!

I have used my Skate for less than 2 months and the frame broke. For a stroller that costs over $600 I would expect for it to last for more than a couple of months. As my stroller will be fixed under warranty, you do not receive a replacement stroller during the time that they fix it.
The stroller is also quite unstable and bouncy. I bought it for the storage, and what I thought would be a great multi use stroller.
If you plan on using your stroller outdoors, I suggest you get something like the Chariot.
If you are looking for something to use in the mall, save your money and buy a simple stroller that you can attach your car seat to,
Pros
good storageCons
Not good for the outdoorsToo expensive for what you get

SKATE v BUGABOO?We originally ordered the Bugaboo Chameleon but were a bit concerned about the small size of the underneath basket and also how low down to the ground the basket was. We found out about the Skate and compared them side by side and the shop even let us gave a go at folding them up and putting them in the car. We chose the SKATE pretty easily over the bugaboo for a number of reasons:
1. Ease of supply/repair - we had heard so many stories (including from the retailers) about problems with Bugaboo supply and repairs. Even though the Skate's had just been released in Australia and were in limited supply, we didn't have any problems getting the pram and in the colours we had chosen.
2. Design and functionality. An absolute winner in both! We liked the height adjustable handle of the bugaboo, but the skate goes so much further with the bassinet or seat being adjustable to 3 heights, as well as the handle being height adjustable. This makes the pram perfectly easy to use for both myself and hubby (who is a good foot 4 inches taller than me )- no back strain when attending to the baby. Something I hadn't thought of until comparing the bugaboo and skate side by side.
This week we purchased the per perego viaggio baby capsule which can be used with the skate pram base. We already had a capsule (the peg perego capsules weren't approved for australian standards when we originally bought the Skate), but I LOVE my skate so much that it was a no brainer to invest in the capsule. Bubs can happily be transported from home to car to shopping etc all undisturbed.
The Skate is just sooooo easy to manouvre and lightweight to use. Beautiful big hood to give bubs privacy/sunshade when needed. Nice and sturdy and bubs is really safe. Beautiful roomy bassinet. The luggage net might seem a bit odd looking, I am a shopaholic and have found it t be fabulous! You can either load your items directly into the net, or load up your shopping bags and place them on the net. Folds beautifully in one seamless motion.
3. Great Looks - fabulous colours.
We just LOVE our SKATE. We have met so many people who haven't been happy with their prams a few months down the track from purchasing them. Bubs is now nearly 4 months old, and we couldn't be happier with the Skate!
Pros
-height adjustable position of the baby-height and angle adjustable handle, good handle height
-luggage net holds heaps of shopping etc
- easy to manouvre, pram is so lightweight when being used
=so easy to fold and unfold - choice of collapsing in one piece or two.
-bassinet converts to stroller, so no need to store separate stroller seat attachments
- great size bassinet. Bubs can sleep in comfort
- foot muff included- provides privacy/shelter/warmth for bubs
-compatible with peg perego viaggio baby capsule, and comes with car seat adaptors included
-funky and fabulous looks
-great design overall, includes cupholder and raincover
Cons
-It is heavier than some other prams on the market and I did find this difficult at first (I had a c/s) BUT as the pram can be folded down all in one, or take the bassinet/stroller attachment off separately, the pram is a lot lighter when folded in this way. I must admit though, it is so easy and quick to put into the car, I tend to fold it down all in one piece.-no UV sunshade included. Bonnet is nice and large and provides great sun protection, but UV sunshade would be a great inclusion for extra sun safety!
- no mosquito net included
Excellent Stroller!!!!

This stroller has everything. Originally when I purchased it I did not like it as much but when my baby was finally born and I actually got outside with the stroller it was hands down the best investment we ever could have made. I spend 5 months of my pregnancy researching strollers, and what sold my husband and I on the Skate was the simple fact that the manuvarability of this stroller is UNMATCHED by any other stroller we looked into- including the Bugaboo. There is a variety of Pros to this stroller, I will list all the ones I can think of.Pros
* Lovely Bassinet* ONE PIECE fold (HUGE HUGE THING for me)
* Easy to remove wheels and make compact
* Heavy Duty Stroller/ Solid Metal Frame
* Highly Adjustable in all ways
* Height Adjustable (BIG DEAL to me as I wanted an Xplory Originally but did not favor the fold of it or overall design just the height) This is one of the few strollers with a height adjustable seats and it Makes a huge difference
* Front/Back facing option of seat
* Bassinet and Seat is ONE IN THE SAME!!!! Big deal again- living in NYC one does not have tons of space to store extra stroller parts.
* The frame is very very beautiful .
* Excellent and easy intergration with the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 Car seat
* Comes with Cup Holder AND Car seat adapters
* Handlebar adjusts both by being pulled out and by being able to be at different angles- including down so that another child can reach and push the stroller
* EXTREMELY EASY TO PUSH- even with one hand and tons of groceries on the bottom.... it never skips a beat
* The net DOES hold a lot of things and is not as inconvieniet as it looks
* The sun shade is LARGE and covers the baby very well - Comes with Raincover but no mosquito net
* EASY EASY fold- Step on fold button, pull triggers as you push down- done! (this is for the chassis once the seat is in position)
* ROOMY ROOMY Bassinet
* Can Hold a child up to 45 pounds- so this stroller with LAST
* Has fully adjustable and removable handle bar (I find these annoying so i am glad I have the option to fully remove it)
* Comes with HUGE TIRES that are fully removable and Tire Pump- Front tires can be locked in place if needed
Cons
Cons:* not going to lie - it is heavy but it is not large in the wheel base- i get around the Brooklyn stores easily.
* Not a travel stroller- so do not expect easy intergration with subway / bus travel. This is great for people who walk around a lot or go by car in the suburbs
* The cup holder extends a bit beyond the wheel base which can be annoying as it gets hit on the side of walls when you go through a tight space or out of an elevator (small elevator)
* The Net on the bottom is great but it could be better if it was a huge flat metal surface of some kind- but this is more a of a neutral as the net does hold a lot of stuff and holds the stuff well.
Overall from all my research and stroller looking I can honestly say I made the best decision. This is the most useful item we purchased and the baby even sleeps in it most nights. The manuvarability is to die for- even on old Brooklyn sidewalks- it moves like a knife through butter.
It is a Peg- and they have been around for a long time which was a plus for me.
There is a lack of optional accesories because this stroller is new but I am sure that will change over time.... Not that there is really anything I would urgently want for this stroller to have as everything is included.
In regards to the biggest con of weight- you have to consider what you will use this stroller for- I rarely if ever actually lift the stroller because I mainly walk with it, and when i have to put it in the car it is not a big deal at all for me. I find no difference in lifting 25 pounds to the 32 that the Skate weights. Plus the extra benefits and sturdy frame are worth the extra weight imho.
WAY TOO BIG AND HEAVY!

This would be a great stroller if you don't have to take it in and out of the trunk of you car 4 times a day. I love peg perego and I was so excited when they came out with "The Bugaboo Killer", but now I know what they meant by that, because there's about a 10 lbs. difference between the two. Overall I like this stroller, but for the price I should be loving it. Peg perego should have considered the weight and storage. Trust me, you will hate having to take it in and out of your car and it's so embarassing when your stuff falls out of so called underseat storage.Pros
good features good looking that's allCons
no storage and what ever you strap under seat can fall out.WAY TOO BIG & HEAVY.
