Overall very good, would recommend

We have the Micralite Toro for 4 months so have only used the carrycot attachment so far, but we are very happy with it. It very easy to fold, very light and very maneouvreable. Its easy to steer with one hand which is very handy in the supermarket. Its also very compact when folded. I would only have two complaints - the cover on the carrycot is fixed by fasteners which were very stiff to start off and also the car seat is difficult to clip on and off, the connections are very stiff.Pros
Light, easy to fold, very maneouvreable, looks good, compact when folded.Cons
Car seat adaptors very stiff.Fasteners on carrycot cover hard to close at the start (fine after some use)
A great all-rounder with real style

After scouring every inch of the pram & stroller market for that perfect all-rounder, my eyes lit up when I came across Micralite's Toro. Our life in San Jose requires a pram that can cope with the 'all-terrain' nature of pavements and parks here, take on hills and beaches, is easy to fold & pack into a car, is small and light enough for air travel, but also has all the bells and whistles of bassinet & car seat compatibility. A tall order for all but a very few strollers out there. But, I have to say, after two months of daily use, the Toro has excelled in all of these areas:
- for those 'all-terrain' parks and pavements, with the standard wheels, the Toro passes happily over lumps & bumps and takes on steps with ease. It's fair to say we've pushed those little front wheels to their maximum, and for real off-road work it is clear we will need the All Terrain Kit (due to be released May 08). But for now, if the front wheels get stuck, all we do is lean it back onto the two hefty rear wheels, and we're off.
- the pram folds in an instant, and packs easily into the boot of a car. You'll find you have several observers as you quickly fold/unfold this contraption in public car parks.
- with wheels off the pram packs into a great carry case which makes for easy enough air travel.
- the bassinet and Maxi Cosi car seat combo are great. The bassinet has a good length, is well furnished with a comfy mattress and quilted lining. The Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat uses the same adaptors as the bassinet, so swapping between the two is simple.
Pros
- good all-round terrain ability and with the pending ATK, should get you to most places.- lightweight, easy to fold, easy to transport, looks great, wonderful colours.
- the Micralite team are quick to respond via e-mail to my questions and queries.
Cons
-Back wheels can be clipped by your feet if you walk with a wide stride.- The release date for the All Terrain Kit has slipped back month on month from December 07 to May 08.
- The Maxi Cosi car seat is very tight onto its Toro adaptors, apparently due to excess plastic left over from the adaptor moulding process.
Brilliant & Unique all-rounder

We've had the Toro for a while now, and every day I like it more and more for its versatility. Looks aside, it's increbible functional. The recline mechanism is wondeful. The fast fold is amazing. The fact that it stands up by itself once folded is such a bonus. The steering is only margninally less fabulous than the Quinny Zapp (which I do own as well) but so much more stable. The best steering feature, however, is how well it climbs curbs and any uneven surface one may encounter in either a semi-rural or city setting. And it does this with ease one-handedly. Which too my knowledge no other pram on the market can do, and as such it makes it unique. And unique is the best word to describe this well designed wonder of human ingenuity. After a recent city visit where we used a lot of public transport this pram really came into its own. I've owned a few prams but none came close to ticking as many boxes as the Toro.
Pros
- Folds quickly and well- Unique steering
- Light weight
- Comfy seat
- Best sunshade available of great design
- Great raincover (see above)
Cons
- Small basket- Weight being distributed over rear wheels means unsuitable to carry shopping on handles
- If handles not tilted back risk of kicking rear wheels
- If front wheels not aligned using the fold lock function can be tricky.
Good Funky Stroller
Reviewed by: Tracy from North Yorkshire Moors, England, Mar 09, 2008General Review
My husband and I purchased this stroller because our pushchair (all terrain Icoo Platon 3 - also reviewed on this website) was difficult to manover when shopping in Town/City. This stroller is very modern, stylish and gets noticed but I don't think it is as comfortable or as solidly built as our faithful and reliable 'all terrain' pushchair but it is very easy to manover around shoppers and narrow shopping aisles which our platon 3 fails at. The ride is reasonably comfortable due to the large rear pneumatic tyres. It takes up very little room in the boot (we have a Volvo V40 and Disco3) but I have placed it in the boot of a Jaguar saloon and Ford Escort without problems. It also takes up little storage space at home. It stands up on it own and is easy to fold down and erect - good for taking on public transport. Very light to carry. Can be used as an 'off roader' i.e. beach, sand and country walks but we would not recommended it for heavy 'all terrain' even with the additional purchase of the new All Terrain Front Wheel system due to the very light weight chassis (if you are looking for All Terrain pushchair consider Icoo, Mountain Buggy or Out-n’-about). Never encountered the problems that other reviewers on other sites have mentioned with regards to front wheels jamming or falling off??? This maybe because I don't put it through the paces that is required for stronger heavier model of pushchair or manhandle it in the way I have seen some mothers treat their strollers. The seat system is height adjustable so baby/toddler can sit higher than is normally expected with other strollers and pushchairs so they are kept away from being dangerously hit by shopping bags and breathing in low ground pollution. I find the shopping basket on the small side, but it is larger than what you would find on similar models, even so it is not very practical and due to the weight of the stroller you can not place bags on the handle bar as this will tip the system up - probably best as you are not supposed to do this. The seat can be adjusted to the 'flat position' and therefore currently meets with British Standards to be used from birth without carrycot or car seat, but British Regulations are due to change in the near future and therefore this may not be relevant for future reviews. The big downside for me is that the seat is not adjustable for forward or rear facing. The brake system is easy to use; the handle bar position is adjustable by allan-key but is not adjustable in height. If you are looking for a British design and built stroller that is funky, fast moving and responsive for general walks and shopping - this is for you. Some places are asking for £250+ but if you shop around you can get it for £170, which is what we paid.Pros
British design and built, Lightweight, funky, very easy to manover even with one hand. Easy to store, fold and erect. Good for travel. Easy to clean. Seat unit is height adjustable. Additional accessories are uncomplicated to fit and unfussy.Cons
Its light-weight means that it could be pron to tipping if overloaded with shopping bags. Is not as strong or as stable as heavier models of pushchairs, not recommended for 'all terrain' just simple country walks.Excellent modern buggy!!!

This is a very stylish buggy if you choose to get one when you put it together it feels a little flimsy.Once its all together it is very sturdy and my 14 month old girl loves it.
The bumper bar is quite high so she cant get her legs over it like all other buggy's.
It takes a while to get to grips with folding it, it's a little stiff to start with and you have to jurk it a bit to get it to click.
The foot muff is the easiest i have ever seen, it pops on and just folds over the bumper bar.
In my oppinion it was a little expensive but if you get it with the carseat or carry cot then you will get your money's worth.
Overall a fantastic buggy :o).
Pros
Very quick to get around with one hand, also to get it on and off public transport is great.the rain cover is very quick and simple to use.
comes with foot muff, rain cover and a pump.
Cons
Its stiff to close to start with.other than that i havn't had it long enough to have had any problems.
Its all good
