Great for Toddlers / Awful Customer Service / Lies

Reviewed by: Audrey from Montreal, Canada, Mar 10, 2010

General Review

I would give this stroller 3-4 stars if I could use it.
A very average stroller if not for good fabric, good size, and comfortable height for tall parents like me.
I had a problem with the rear wheels (they seemed to just come undone despite no abuse of the stroller whatsoever). Despite living in a major metropolitan area, I was not able to get service for the stroller, and I received NO replies from Maclaren despite several telephone and electronic requests for help of any kind. This is a dramatic contrast to Peg Perego and Stokke who have solved any problems that I have had immediately and beyond satisfaction. My husband (an enigneer) ultimately took the wheel housings apart and discovered that, contrary to Maclaren's claims of great engineering, the insides were made of very cheap and poor quality materials. He and his engineering types fixed it but...
I really feel like I flushed $500 down the drain.

Pros

Very comfortable handles for tall parents (say over 5'8")
Comfortable for tall toddlers
Only foot-muff I have found that fits toddlers (my daughter is a tall 3 year old)
Nice quality fabric, all colours look nice and the stroller looks like a nice accessory

Cons

Absolutely useless shopping basket - impossible to access at the best of times
Toddler feet wander uncomfortably close to the wheels, especially when they are sleepy
Truly terrible and awful customer service - I will never buy a Maclaren again because of it. IF you can contact someone, you will simply be sent into revolving doors.
