Best Value for a Travel Stroller

Reviewed by: Donna Hall from California, Jun 28, 2006

General Review

While everyone seems to be gaga over Maclaren strollers, I'll take a European made Inglesina any day!

I was a little suspicious that a stroller of any type for $100 or less could be of much value to me; however, the Swift has proven me wrong. I have two Swifts that reside in our cars or travel with us across the country.

By far, this is the easiest folding stroller I have ever own. It is truly a one hand fold operation. I can easily undo the lock mechanism with a foot and then push the stroller forward for a tight fold. The mechanism that locks the frame together when folded (on the 2006 model) is easy to catch and has a secure and sturdy hold. It is a far superior lock than what was on the 2005 model. I have one of those as well and the lock broke off easily on our first air flight.

The fourth position recline is almost entirely flat making this stroller excellent for napping babies. I have used this with our daughter since she was around 3 months of age with absolutely no problems.

The 2006 comes in a nice selection of colors which was not available before now. Aside from that and the chassis lock, the details remain the same.

I have a large baby and the seat on the Swift is plenty big enough for her now at a year of age and has plenty of room to acommodate growth. The hood is generous for a light weight umbrella stroller.

When given the choice of the sea of "made in China" Maclarens and the European crafted Swift your choice is easy. Get a Swift. You will not regret it.

Pros

Extremely light weight
One handed fold (truly)
Four position recline
Great color choices
Great value for the money

Cons

Small basket will not hold a lot of weight
Does not come with a rain cover
