General Review

the main features:
- from birth to about 4 years
- reversible seat
- 5 recline positions, including fully flat for newborn
- foot rest's upholstery design with zippers to zip into the sides of the seat to create a bassinette environement
- raised sides of the seat (about 8" high, raised sides of the back rest and padded
- 5 point harness
- fully removable, button operation front bar, for easy access to child (very usefull in winter with snowpants and snow boots)
- all wheel soft suspension, wheels are removable
- swivvel front double wheel, lockable on the side of the stroller, at the height of of the seat, very easy accessible, fully lockable, for when you want to walk on deep sand, or absolutelly rough terrain - however, I only lock iton very soft, deep sand, since this is an all-terrain stroller, and is meant to handle roughness easily
- the seat itself is positioned at about the same height as that of a Peg pram, a bit higher than Bertini - makes it easy on your back to lift the child out, and the child is not as exposed to car exhaust, dogs sniffing, etc.
- the canopy itself is a full 3 part canopy, double lined for warmth, with removable back, exposing mesh lining for air flow during summer, the canopy is quite large so even tall a 3 year old does not have a problem with fitting under it, also when expanded, it an be closed almost all the way around to protect from very strong wind and other elements, it provides a total sun coverage
- boot included - double lined, adjustable width for various sizes of a child.
- basket underneath will hold up to 8 grocery bags (including milk, and such other heavy items), because the seat is position high, there is absolutely no obstructions to access the basket at any time
- the handle itself is height adjustable, with rubber grip for comfort
- folding is telescopic, and the stroller stands by itself when folded
- the city wheels are EVA solid rubber, (unlike the other reviewer I do not have a problem with stuff sticking to the tires - they are quite solid, so unless you drive over glass, things tend to just fall of on their own)
the AT wheels are air filled.

What I absolutely love is the quality of all the parts used, from handle grips, all the way down to the basket itself.

This stroller provides ultimate comfort for a newborn through to about age 3-4. Even though it states that you can use it up to 40 lbs of the childs' weight, this stroller performed 100% loaded with toddler, 8 bags (many a time) of groceries (reinforced bottom of basket truly is a blessing if you like to walk to your grocery store), in winter, and I had a 50lb dog tied to the handle bar - the stroller never tilted any way or croaked.
The upholstery I washed many times in a washer on cold cycle, all stains (including juice, chocolate, popsicle stains, etc) came out no problem without using stain removers. The upholstery is absolutely comfortable it is the most padded I have seen in any stroller, maybe only Jane is sillimar on the back rest, but even than it's the Bebecar that wins, also it is a cotton blend, the front bar is removable, and is a blessing during winter with snowpants and snowboots while getting the child in and out without loosing the boots, :).
. Also Bebecar is the only company out there to test the plastic they use up to -50*C - so no worry in winter - it will last.
The canopy itself truly provides perfect protection from the elements, it is roomy enough to accomodate a tall child, yet wide enough with a big enough span to protect fully the newborn. The back part can be unzipped (or just lifted over) to expose the mesh for air flow. The seat's recline positions, as well as the foot rest's and the ability to be zipped up on the sides gives a superb protection for a newborn in a bassinette environment. The suspension works very smoothly, and the stroller is effortless while pushing it - it "rolls", one hand steering presents no challenge, which really is surprising for all it's size. Let's face it it is a big stroller, however it will fit into most car trunks, and is surprisingly light in comparison to the other strollers/walkers of that type; 4- or 3-wheelers. The wide span of the back wheels and the angle and lenght of the handle bar allow even for a long stride of a 6'4" man. I have not had a problem getting through any stores' doors. This is a well tought through design with the comfort of a child as well as mothers in mind.

All in all, after starting my journey in to the stroller world with a Graco Chauffer Coach Rider travel system (every new mom's syndrom of having the travel system, :)), than owning a Stroll Air Europa Sport for a while, than Peg Perego pram (lasted only 3 days), a Bertini, a Zooper Zydeco, and 3 umbrellas (the Zooper zStreet 2004 model, the Swing 2005, and the Maclaren Techno Classic) I strongly believe that this is trully a superb walking stroller, and if I had to I would purchase it again without thinking twice. Ironically this is actually the stroller I dreamed of while being pregnant. In the end my own "stroller-instinct" proved true. I only wish the Bebecar company would make a compareable double stroller, aside for the Dupla and the Unibig Twin. I have not had a problem with any parts not working or breaking in the 3 years I owned the Bebecars (the Tracker AT and Tracker City previously). However it requires periodic (seasonal) maintenance of the suspension with some WD40, which should also be sprayed into to telescopic folding mechanism, as the accumulation of dust/sand and general grit may make the frame squeek while turning), the way I do it, is fold the stroller, spray a few times all over, and repeatedly open and fold the stroller to distribute the lubrication.

I highly recommend this stroller to anyone who will use it everyday for any outing, especially for stay at home moms who live in city areas with a lot of parks, paths, running errands that require large baskets, like all day outings with child etc. It performs perfect while camping, and long shopping in malls - the child sits comfortably with lots of space for toys, and anything alse within the childs seat.

Some people will complain that it does not have a cup holder for parent and for child - well I have yet to see a European made or designed stroller with these, aside for a Peg Perego Atlantico. Also I believe the parents' cup holder poses a certain risk to a child (picture a scolding hot coffee in a wobbly cup holder while going over a serious bumb, or even a curb,a nd the coffee spilling onto the child - nightmare). As for a childs tray - those things never relly perform, as I am yet to see a child who would make use of it as it is meant to be used aside for leaning on it. For the parent - you may choose to buy a Jolly Jumper canvas organizer with 2 deep pockets for water bottles and a zippered compartment for keys, wallet, etc - it worked very well for me.

The customer service is absolutelly helpfull and answered any concerns I might have had - the distributor in Canada is absolutelly a most customer oriended person, with a return e-mialrate within 24-48 hours. However, if you try to contact the Bebecar manufacturer just through their web site - well, it's best to contact the distributor for that country or the store the stroller was purchased from.

the bottom line: if you want to buy only one stroller for the course of your usage get the Bebecar. you will omit getting several ones untill you are hapy with one.
it takes Graco car seat with attaachement, and a bassinet is available as well.

Pros

the total comfort for baby, huge easy assess basket, minute maintenance, supre durable, and best of all this is a "looker", the variety and quality of fabrics will definetly please anyone.

Cons

trully none, and i had 3 models already for over a few years now. every one is a winner.

Icon of Maneuverability

Reviewed by: Dale McGregor from British Columbia, Canada, Feb 03, 2007

General Review

We picked up the Icon in December, 2006. Very nicely appointed stroller, with great looking/feeling fabric (cleans up very well). The modified three wheel design is great for one-handed navigation. Cargo room is decent for this medium sized stroller. One-handed collapse and a simple levered mechanism for removal of the cot makes storage/transport a breeze.

Our daughter is very comfortable in the 'firm', yet plush padded cot, and the safety straps appear comfortable, yet secure.

The tires are of a foam-like compound that picks up small rocks and allows them to imbed themselves in them. We'll see how long they last, but I expected rubber tires on a product that has so many other exceptionally well-appointed features. Fake valve stems on the 'tires' are ridiculous.

The wheels are easy to remove, so we may end up substituting different wheels (with better tires) should they become available.

Pros

-looks and quality of design/fabric
-maneuverability
-cargo capacity
-child comfort

Cons

-wheels pick up debris in the 'tire' material
-fake valve stems make it seem like Bebecar's apologetic for their choice of 'tire' material
