Lightweight but not Great

Reviewed by: Fiona from Victoria Australia, Feb 11, 2008

General Review

I purchased the Maclaren Quest as a lightweight stroller for my 5 month old to accomodate quick trips to the shops. I have to admit the weight is fantastic and it folds very neatly and easily for storage in the car plus the fabrics are really nice. For me that is where the greatness ended. My son would always slouch in the seat (never slouched in any other pram seat) and looked very uncomfortable. The hood was very flimsy and due to the frame being set at a backwards angle you could hang absolutely NOTHING from the handles without it being unsteady and if you took the child out it would flip immediately. I realise the recommendation is not to hang items from any strollers handles but in the real world this happens alot. I am also not a fan of the reclining system with the 2 slides on each side of the frame (but I do believe most strollers and going towards this system of folding) as it makes it more difficult to get it down to the lowest level.
I will forever regret the day I sold my Peg Pliko and replaced it with the Mac.

Pros

Lightweight
Quality Fabrics
Compact fold
Great buckles for fastening

Cons

Seat made my younger child slouch
Flimsy hood
Unstable due to backward lean of frame
Reclining mechanism
