Good, but....

General Review

We have had our Beema Q for over 2 years now & in general are very pleased with it. It does well over rough terrain, even when jogging. It moves very well & is comfy for the baby/child too.

Pros

Excellent storage basket underneath
Comes with snuggly warm 'boot' cover
The optional bassinet is good
Good suspension; soft, smooth ride

Cons

No toddler seat option
No standard storm/sun cover - we ended up buying a Valco one & attaching it
Is pretty heavy & doesn't fold up very small

Kate from Sydney re the tipping of this pram HOLD ON TO IT PROPERLY! I have used this pram for over a year and walk over 4 kms a day and have to say it's been fantastic. Having three positions is great as baby grows up and an osteopath advised it was one of the best prams a baby could sit in. My son is now 14 mths old and we are expecting our second child in March so the only down side of this pram is that it doesn't have a toddler seat and the skateboard attachement isn't much good on long walks. I'm in grief I have to give up this pram in order to get two child around.

Tips Over easily

Reviewed by: Kate McDonnell from Sydney NSW, Aug 10, 2007

General Review

I am so disappointed with this pram I am trying to sell it after 4mths since purchase. It is so unsteady and tips over very easily if you don't have both hands on the pram when going over the slightest bump. I am too scared to take my son in it now after it tipped over in the street when he was 3 weeks old. The front wheel seems to swivel out from underneath it.

Pros

Not as heavy as some

Cons

Tips
Front scrapes continually on cement etc. when closing and putting up thus damaging prams look.

Practical, Safe and Great Value for Money

Reviewed by: Gabrielle from Brisbane, Australia, May 17, 2007

General Review

My daughter is almost 10 months old and we have used the Beema Q since she was born. We have been delighted with our choice. We closely studied every pram on the market prior to buying the Beema Q, with the most important factors for us being (1) Practicality (had to have a basinette, be comfortable for baby over rough terrain and have a generous under-seat basket), and (2) Size (had to be big enough to last baby a few years but small enough to fit through checkouts & doorways, and, when folded, small enough to fit into the back of my small car boot). We have put the pram through hell: up and down stairs, over rough ground, on several 10km runs, on 4 plane trips, to the beach - faultless every time and still as sturdy as the day it was bought. Price was not a factor. Indeed, we were looking seriously at the Bugaboo Cameleon for a long time beforehand, only to come to the realisation that the Bugaboo was really a victory of form over function (ie, good looking, but hard to fold up, hot fabric for Qld climate, small storage space, small seat, vibrating wheels on rough surfaces), and that all of our friends who'd bought one spent most of their time justifying their purchase after listing the various faults they'd had to have repaired. The value for money has been a bonus. The fabric can be wiped clean with little effort. The only flaw is that I have had to cover the hinges on the inside of the hood with soft foam as baby has just become tall enough to knock her head against them if she sways from side to side. I have another baby due later this year, so must put this aside for a twin/tandem for a while, but will keep the Beema Q to use again when the eldest can walk unaided.

Pros

* Lightweight (for a three wheeler)
* Fits into the boot of a small car (wheels come off if needed)
* Seems very comfortable for Baby
* Turns on a dime
* Great shopping pram - big under-seat basket
* Basinette (can be used for baby to sleep in at home and when going out for first few months)
* Excellent value for money
* Easy care fabric
* Viewing window in hood
* Sturdy and absorbs bumps on rough terrian

Cons

* When tall enough, baby can hit head against exposed hinges inside hood.

Great for newborns

Reviewed by: Lee Stack from Melbourne, Apr 19, 2007

General Review

Overall a good pram. Especially for newborns.

Pros

The basinette is great for new borns. The pram is easy to manouvre, and easy to fold.

Cons

The hinges for the shade cover are positioned on the top of the frame, rather than on the outside and now that my son is sitting up, he hits his head on the hinges all the time, very frustrating.

Love this pram

General Review

Have had this pram for a year now and it the best investment I ever made. Took the advice of choice.com.au who performed all the safety test etc and was not disappointed. I am about to have another baby so sadly will need to find a comparable double pram, WISH there was a Beema Double!!

no bells or whistles but value for money

Reviewed by: lyn mckay from WA, Jan 06, 2007

General Review

i'm extremely happy with my beema q, it is easy to move around and fits through most shopping aisles, although only 11 kg i find it a pain to get in and out of car and opted to buy a stroller to leave in boot. After 8 months of use, i feel that it needs one more sitting position, a mobile phone and key pocket within the big pocket on back...it is so deep it takes forever to find things! the material could be a bit more sun resistant, although that would obviously increase cost. It could do with somewhere for baby to put a cup on when sitting in pram. not sure if would buy same pram for next baby, see below.

Pros

great manouverability; basket large;does not tip eaily;love the storeage pocket on back;easy to keep clean;adjustable height handle

Cons

needs another sitting position;material fades quickly; needs sunshade;needs something to bumper bar so baby can put cup on

Terrible

Reviewed by: Sharon from VIc, Australia, Dec 29, 2006

General Review

This pram has everything a mother could need, but for a baby it is awful. My bub was so slouched in this pram that I sold it and got another one. It did not cradle her body as the seat itself was too rigid and too upright. This could not have been good on her spine. Now in her new one she is very comfy.

Pros

Fits through checkouts.
Big storage basket.
Easy to fold.
Easy to steer.

Cons

Not comfortable for baby when sitting upright, which is the most important consideration for me with a pram.

World's Best Pram!!!!

Reviewed by: Natasha Biggins from Southern highlands, Nov 06, 2006

General Review

The Beema Q is amazing!! I was looking for a three wheeler that could fit through a normal checkout and wasn't too heavy and i got so much more!!
The seat can take 22kgs and the bottom basket 5kgs. I love the bassinette option too so i can face my baby boy while he's younger. The adjustable handle is great for me because my husband is so much taller!
The fabric is easily removable and washable and it is so easy to fold i couldn't believe it when i first saw it done! The sales assistant was excellent at Babyco too, she showed us how to fold the Beema Q towards me rather than down to the ground to prevent the bottom getting scratched and everything.

Would reccommend it to anyone! Thank you Babyco!!

Pros

Light
Easy to fold
Height adjustable handles
bassinette section
narrow enough to go through checkouts
the stormcover covers all the fabric on the pram not just a small section of it
easily removable wheels

Cons

Only comes in the two colours (but i hear new ones coming out soon???)
Can't take toddler seat

I like this stroller for its realistic price point! Ours cost $360 and included the bassinet feature which was great when bub was small. Really the only complain I have is the fabric choice, would prefer if it was in the canvas type material, like phil & teds or m/buggy.

Pros

relatively light, for type of stroller
fits through all regular checkouts
comes with heaps of accessories

Cons

the fabric doesn't breath
basket a little hard to get into in recline posi

Beema Q child can't see mum, bulky, hard to fold

Reviewed by: Vashti Alston-Fisher from Canberra, Australia, Aug 30, 2006

General Review

Think more than twice!! If I was going to buy a pram again I wouldn't buy this one, but would by a pram that the child could face forwards and backwards. I have been a nanny and used reversable handle prams. As a mother I chose the Beema Q as it suited my active lifestyle, fit in my small boot space and could fit a bassinet. As someone with a four year uni bachelor degree in product design, I am going to buy a different pram when I have my second child due to the difficulties associated with this one.

Pros

Good suspension; my child stays asleep even going over bumpy surfaces. It is light enough to carry to put in the boot or take on and off busses. Reasonable turning circle. Can be easily steered one handed (show me a pram that can't!).

Cons

Difficult to fold in general as I need to change the handle and seat position every time. Impossible to fold one handed, so if you're on your own; you either have to put your child on the ground or in a baby carrier. It might be light enough to carry on and off busses, but it is too bulky to carry on and off! It is nearly impossible to manoeuvre when folded as it can't be wheeled when folded and is difficult to hold to pick up. The child can only face forward, this minimises parent child interaction and means my child 'fusses' and wants to be picked up. Prams that face both forwards and backwards may encourage language development through social interaction with their parent. I basically don't bother using this pram unless we're taking the pram somewhere to jog, as I have to take the baby carrier anyway if I want to go on the bus and then it's too bulky to get on the bus with or without holding a baby.

Not much I can fault!

Reviewed by: Jodie from Victoria, Mar 13, 2006

General Review

I had my eye on the Beema Q out the front of Babyco before i fell pregnant. I loved that it was black, what could be better for a baby! It folds so easily to a realitivly compact size, only takes up half our boot & very easy to manouvre. The only problem we have had with it in the last nine months is a wheel bearing wore which babyco replaced free of charge (and fully serviced it) because it was under a 12m warranty. So many people have one and i havent heard anyone complain. There were 4 out of 9 in my mothers group! I do alot of walking along a not so smooth bike track and i have found it to be great, it doesnt tip as easily as some other 3 wheelers i have seen. I would definately recommend one!

Pros

Light Weight
Folds easily
Durable fabric
Attachable Bassinet option
Raincover
Most 3 wheeler accessories will fit it (eg. suncover, drink caddy)
Averagely priced.
CAN fit through average supermarket checkout unlike some of its competition.

Cons

Doesnt have the option of a toddler seat, they are apparantly not safe, but i have come accross one that would fit it if you dare.
So many people have them, not so good if you like something a bit different.
