Terrible

Reviewed by: Anna from Middlesbrough, May 04, 2010

General Review

This is my worst ever purchase and i would not recomment it to anyone. My daughter grew out of it when she was 3 months due to the backrest being so narrow. This is a terrible pram dont buy it.

Pros

looks pretty

Cons

useless

Perfect

Reviewed by: Göran from Sweden, Oct 14, 2008

General Review

I bought mine in January 2005 after a thorough reseach. It should be easy to travel with, lightweight, foldable, being both pram and stroller, safe etc. It still works perfect after having served our first boy and now our second. It's a city stroller with small weels, but it has been dragged on to the beach, on forest paths etc. and still survived. It can easily carry our 11 kg son with the older 19 kg on the built-in bigbrother steps. In addition I often put a 10 kg shopping basket on one of the handles in the supermarket. No problems whatsoever. When I initialy bought this Italian plastic thing I expected it to last 2 years or less. Now soon 4 years later it still works exactly like the day it was bought.

Pros

Versatile, durable, light, carries an extra child. Carries a lot of groceries.

Cons

Not a dedicated off-roader (though it can still take some challenge).
The parental cup (beer?) holder should be taken off before folding ;-) Now how many strollers does even have that feature?!??! Peg-Perego rules!

Major ergonomic design flaws will catch you out !

Reviewed by: StrollerMaster from Ireland, May 01, 2008

General Review

Here's a list of major problems - which will arise after your honeymoon period with the pramette's good looks subside. In "pram mode" there is no harness available, also if you look closely, the child's head is at a lower level than it's feet ! In "stroller mode" the Pliko / Peg Perego P3 Pramette chair (when zipped together) has a trapezoidal design : 7 inches deep, 12 inches wide at the front, but more importantly, ONLY 9 INCHES WIDE at the back. This is a major problem : your child will no longer be able to sit back comfortably in the chair (after about 5 months old). The pramette is very heavy - only accentuated when you attempt to use the Viaggio IP car-chair. In practice, it cannot be folded with one hand, the side-catches don't release properly and keep sticking. With two individual handles, lifting the front wheels up, to mount a path kerb, is very hard on the wrists. A full bar would have been more appropriate. The Pliko P3 pramette, with the Viaggio IP car-chair attached, cannot be steered with one hand (try answer your mobile / cell phone when pushing ... you can't !) The "shoulder free harness" is not a "beneficial feature" - it's a flaw, the child can be easily flung forward, as it's only supported at its waist.

Pros

Appears to offer an impressive array of features ...

Cons

The hidden ergonomic flaws are too serious, no child between the ages of 4 months and 2 years can sit back into a narrow 9 inch wide chair !

Fantastic

Reviewed by: Hollie from Australia, Mar 05, 2008

General Review

I read millions of reviews on prams and spoke to other mums about what they found they liked and disliked about their prams. Ultimately, I came up with a list of requirements:-

1. Not too heavy
2. Not too big so as to take up the whole boot of the car (defeats the purpose of going shopping!)
3. Easy to fold up and down
4. Easy access to undercarriage basket when in full recline
5. Easy to adjust the sitting position
6. something that would recline flat for a newborn

I visited numerous pram shops with my list of requirements and the Peg is the only one which fit the bill on all counts. Although my bub is only 12 weeks and therefore I've only been using it for that long, I think it's the best pram available. I believe its better than the prams in the higher price bracket. Mine cost me $630 (Australian) which is more than I wanted to spend, but I'm glad I got it.

It is easy to steer, the versatility of bassinet mode or stroller mode is fantastic and there's no switching items - haveing a seat or a bassinet to attach to a frame.

My baby refuses to sleep on his back too, so the bassinet mode is a godsend. I trialled him for a walk in my 3 wheeler which he liked until he got tired. Not being able to turn him over onto his tummy meant I had a screaming child for the rest of the walk which defeated the purpose of a supposed relaxing exercise.

Pros

As listed above

A brilliant all rounder.

Cons

1.Price
2.The window on the hood has a cover which does not fasten down which can be a problem in wind. I'm planning on attaching a doublesided piece of velcro to mine to solve that problem.
3. Not a brilliant off-road pram, nor is it possible to run with it (the front wheels shake awfully when trying to jog or run as I found out today when caught in rain without my rain cover).

Awful wheels

Reviewed by: nj from Glasgow, Nov 23, 2007

General Review

I purchased a Mamas & Papas P3 in Feb 07 from the Glasgow Pram Centre. The wheels have developed problems, vibrating & squeaking. Now the Glasgow Pram Centre say it's wear and tear because my wife doesn't drive much and walks instead. They want £10 per wheel and £10 fitting to replace them. Trading Standards say the onus is on me to prove otherwise. Mamas & Papas say they would replace under guarantee if we had bought directly from them. I don't know how to resolve the issue and want other people to be aware. We wanted this pram to last for 2 or 3 children and it hasn't made it to 9 months.

Pros

adaptable with matching car seat

Cons

wheels have fallen apart, locking system to fold is a bit iffy

dissapointed

General Review

I would never buy this brand again. Although the convertions are a draw card for this pram I found that it has not lasted well and does not carry the weight of even a ten month old with ease. It is hard to steer - it handles like an old super market trolley, the wheels are rattley, it does not go up gutters at all well! It is was sold to me with the added bonus of being able to carry a toddler on the back but it does not take the weight nor sit in a position where the child can be comfortable or safe. I live in the inner city and it just does not handle - I ventured once with this pram to a hilly terrain and it was just ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS PRAM is my only reccommendation

Pros

convertions are good and it is lovely and cosy for a new born

Cons

Ages rapidly, bad steering, hard to handle, weak, wobbly, hopeless

the best all around stroller

Reviewed by: rebecca from usa, May 31, 2006

General Review

i spent 9 months trying to figure out which stroller i should get. at first i wanted the bugaboo, but the price and the fact that it didnt fold quickly were two big no no's for a stroller. after much research i finally decided on the peg perego pramette. all in all, if you have the money, your best option would be the pramette which you would leave in your car and to get the bugaboo for strolling. but the bugaboo cannot be your ONLY stroller. youll go crazy from it. i ended up getting the bugaboo as well and now i am set. i have a beautiful stroller for jumping in and out of the car, and i have a beautiful frog to stroll around with. this way, im never dragging
a stroller from the house to the
car. but if this is your first and only stroller then i would definetly recommend the pramette. believe me, i did a lot of research.

Pros

1,there are two handles, instead of one bar so you can hang tons of bags. clips are never the same. 2, it turns into a bassinet by a simple switch of the hood which takes two seconds to do.3, it folds up umbrella style which only takes up one of your hands, so the other can be free for your baby.4, the material washes so beautifully. i got it in safari which is cream colored and it still looks brand new.

Cons

1, the price-$500. there are no other cons. you will love this stroller.
