Introduction
Bumbleride - 'The Ride of your life' is their motto and the Indie has certainly won a place in my heart: all-terrain, lightweight, fantastic hood and extra large storage basket. The Indie really does tick off a lot of boxes in the quest for the Holy Grail that is “The Perfect Pram”.
Seat design and function
The indie has a very roomy comfortable, nicely padded seat. It has an adjustable footrest and an infant head hugger. The seat offers a multi - position strap recline, including a fully flat recline suitable from newborn.
The Indie comes standard with a padded front bumper bar that doubles as a car seat adaptor.
Seat dimensions:
Seat back: 49.5/19”
Clearance to hood: 63cm/24”
Width: 32/13”
Seat depth: 23cm/9”
Foot well: 23cm/9”
Weight limit: 20.4kg/45lbs

Child safety harness
The safety harness on the Indie is a 5 point padded harness. It has a standard push release buckle. To adjust the harness height undo the harness at the back of the seat using the split O ring, pop out the harness through the front of the seat, thread the harness up into the desired spot and pop the harness locks back through and re-attach the split O ring.

Hood or Canopy
The sun coverage on the Indie is one of the best I have seen. The hood can be positioned right down parallel with the bumper bar and even with the seat fully reclined offers fantastic sun protection for your sleeping child. The hood has a zip off back panel for airflow in the hotter months. The hood is also reversible allowing you to use it in “pramette” mode for a newborn.

Handle design and function
The handle height on the Indie will have something to suit all parents. At the lowest setting it is 63cm/24.5” and by extending the handle to the highest position it reaches 115cm/45”. To adjust the handle press in the handle adjust buttons on either side of the handle and move to desired position.

Storage
The under seat basket on the Indie is an extra large size. It has fantastic access and will fit even the largest nappy bag. The Indie also comes with a side mounted cup holder and a zip pocket on the back of the hood.

Wheels and Brakes
The Indie has 3 x 12” air filled wheels; the front wheel can be locked for better manoeuvrability on tougher terrain. It can also swivel 360 degrees for the ultimate in manoeuvrability.
The Indie has a locking brake, which is a lever system over the rear wheels. It is easy to use, with a simple down to lock, up to unlock movement.

Fold mechanism
The fold mechanism is a two stage fold. To fold ensure the front wheel is unlocked and at the most forward position, then simply move the two fold levers either side of the handle up. The Indie seat will fold forward exposing the black fold strap, grab the strap and pull up to complete the fold. Secure the Indie closed with the two manual locks located on either side of your stroller.

Manoeuvrability
If you want a one-hand push all terrain stroller then look no further than the Indie. Its lightweight chassis makes one handed manoeuvering over rough terrain a breeze. On the floor of the shops it is quick and nimble. It is a perfect all round stroller.Back to top

Accessories
The Indie comes standard with a belly bar/car seat adaptor and a cup holder. Optional accessories such as, carrycots, liner/footmuffs, non PVC rain covers, and a handy little accessory called a snack pack can all be purchased separately. Most are available in coordinating fabrics.
Snack Pack
The Snack Pack attaches to the frame at the same point the bumper bar does. It sits on its own frame, which must be removed before folding the Indie. The Snack Pack zips open to reveal an easy wipe clean internal compartment with a drink and snack section. You can Velcro the opening underneath the snack pack so it is out of the way while your child uses the tray. Snack Packs are available in all current colour ways to match your stroller
Footmuff
The footmuff for the Indie comes in matching colour ways to the Bumbleride lines. The liner zips off from the footmuff to create a reversible liner and when the weather cools down the footmuff can be zipped back into place to protect your child from the weather. To install the foot muff follow the harness adjustment instructions.

Summary and Rating
Pros
- Light and agile
- Multi position recline including flat position
- Huge hood
- Huge shopping basket
Cons
- Snack Pack (optional accessory) must be removed before folding.
Conclusion
The Indie is light enough to be used as an everyday stroller and fits well into a standard sedan boot. I found it easier to load it in with wheels on the top which is upside down to what is intuitive but it does make the stroller slide in much easier. The Indie fits comfortably on public transport and moves effortlessly about the shops, and with a very generous shopping basket it will soon become your shopping stroller of choice. The Indie is fantastic to push outdoors and the amazing sun protection offered by the hood certainly makes getting outdoors something you will want to do more of.
