I was reading the user guides for some US seats today - the Parkway being one of them (which is out Hi Liner minues the tether strap). Interestingly the Park way has a removable back so that it can become a booster cushion. I am not a fan of the booster cushion but there is a place for them. I have often felt that if only they had an anti sub clip they would be good for some situations. Of course the US model must have a slightly better seat cover design as the seat cover on our Hi liner isn't designed to be a booster cushion. Anyway here are some pics... There is a tiny screw that prevents the seat back from sliding in and out like the US model does. The seat back removed: Josh using it as a booster cushion (I put the Hi Liners cover back on) Head room while using it: There is a fair amount of head room to the roof - his head is closer to the curved edge but this section is covered by a curtain airbag anyway. I also find it hard to use th Hi Liner in this seat because of the way the roof is curved - I found the head rest touches this and can't go up high enough. Josh without it:

I don't know if I will use it (I want to see what Milly says first! ) but I can see an improvement in his seatbelt positioning. That is Josh's usual seat. He sits there to help me with Ben if he is crying and I find Josh and Tom play up a bit when they are on the back row together. I only ever put Josh in the 3rd row when he has the full Hi Liner as the seat belt fit is worse than the midde row and the head rest doesn't sit low enough for him. On the 3rd row the Hi Liner does touch the side of the car almost tilts a bit. I also find visability out of the back window terrible with the 2 Hi Liners installed.

How he is without the booster is how stupid belts are on me! I'm not what I'd call short - 5'6", but obviously my upper half isn't long enough. If only they made half-booster thingies for big-bummed, overweight pregnant chickies to sit on

I do think seatbelt positioning over the lap is much better with the 'half booster'.
I agree short women (I am only 150cm short) could do with a booster for big bums LOL!!!

I am actually seriously considering buying a seat belt positioner for me! I am sick and tired of moving the belt the whole time I am driving as it rubs on my neck so much! Oh, and I actually DID buy an adult booster a while back It was from one of those old people door-to-door magazines. (Penny Miller?) It was just a foam thing, but it made it easier for me to see over the dash! -Tina

Imagine how much safer they would be! All cars should have them. And back seats should have them built in, but child sized.

Greg is going to see about installing them in the van when all the kids are out of car seats. While I have one in a car seat I make sure thats where the lap only belt is to free up the lap/sash belts

The Infa Vario is the same - two screws at the bottom of the backrest, when removed allow you to take the top off and use it as a seat only unit.
We bought two of them this week and one had the tether strap incorrectly installed so I had to a) dismantle the seat unit to put the tether on the right way up (so the buckle to adjust the tension was usable) and then b) re-thread all the items on the tether the right way to remove a twist. Very annoying.
The Infa service guy we spoke to on the phone mentioned it is sold without the screws in the EU. Does anyone know what the name of it is in the EU?

I did see a photo of an Infa seat in a Swiss road safety brouchure (which also rated seats ).... I can't remember the name of it though and my SIL demanded keeping the brouchure
